How to Send Emails Upon Request in SMS and Live Chat Conversations

These are the precise steps to set up your AI to automatically send emails when a user asks during an SMS or live chat interaction. This configuration helps maintain a smooth and consistent user experience across platforms.


Go to Tools & Abilities

  • Navigate to your AI assistant settings.

  • Select Version 2.0 (ensure you're working in the latest version).

  • Under Tools & Abilities, click “Add Tool”.

  • Choose “Send Email” (Custom Tool) from the list.



Configure the AI Prompt

Once the “Send Email” tool is added:

  • Set the AI prompt as:


“Use the send email tool whenever the user requests to send an email.”

This will instruct the AI to automatically trigger the email tool when a user types something like:

  • “Can you email me this?”

  • “Please send this to my inbox.”

  • “I'd like a copy via email.”

 

Activate for SMS & Live Chat

With the tool and prompt in place:

  • The AI will now respond appropriately in both SMS and live chat channels.

  • When a user makes a request, it will trigger the email tool and deliver the response to the contact's email.
